Course One:

Morning Releasing warm-up sessions
Falling Wide Easter Intensive 2007
Mon 23rd - Fri 27th April: 9 - 10am

Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT) is the pioneering approach to dancing that facilitates a deep kinesthetic experience of movement. By engaging the imagination and involving the whole self, natural alignment and freedom of movement is rediscoverd. In Releasing classes, students are guided with poetic imagery that is interwoven with music and sound to tap into the imagination and trigger spontaneous improvised movement. Images in Releasing act as kinesthetic metaphors for technical principles such as multi-direction alignment, suppleness, suspension and economy - in this process, technical growth and creative unfoldment are integrated.

The Releasing process reveals the natural grace in every human being - reflecting a key principle in the practice that we are all born dancers. SRT is for all those with an interest in exploring their creativity through moving: professional dance artists, newcomers and beginners alike.
