SRT evening class
Siobhan Davies Studios, London
Thursday evenings, 6.30-8.30pm
Spring term: 8th Jan – 12th Mar 2009

Falling Wide continues its popular weekly Skinner Releasing Technique evening class in the roof studio at Siobhan Davies Studios.

Skinner Releasing Technique is the pioneering and inclusive approach to dancing that has evolved from the simple principle that when we are releasing tension and habitual holding patterns we can move more freely, powerfully and articulately. It is widely regarded as the technique which informs contemporary dance as we know it today. Uniquely, Releasing classes welcome beginners, newcomers and professional dancers alike, all studying at their own pace.

Releasing classes use guided imagery and hands-on studies to enable creative explorations of principles such as suppleness, suspension, multi-directional alignment and economy in dancing.

If you are new to dance, returning to dance after a break or feel unsure about attending a dance class, a Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT) class could be just the thing for you. Many have found that SRT can be supportive of the healing process from injury, as well as being a welcoming, creative environment for all.

These classes are open to all and no previous movement or dance experience is necessary.
