The biennial London Skinner Releasing Easter School
returns in 2006!
A time for dancers,
performers and indeed artist of any discipline to explore creative
process and technical growth with leading international dance artists:
pioneer of collaborative performance practice Gaby Agis
(London), Bessie-award winning, NY Choreographer Jennifer
Monson (New York), British dance-artist Florence
Peake (London) & former Trisha Brown Company dancer
Lionel Popkin (LA).
Skinner
Releasing Technique (SRT) is the pioneering approach to
dancing evolved from the simple principle that when we are letting
go of habitual holding patterns we can move more freely and articulately.
A considerable influence on leading artists across the world, SRT
enhances any movement aesthetic alongside fostering individuals’
artistic sensibility and creative unfoldment.
The
only opportunity outside the USA to intensively study this groundbreaking
technique.
Faculty
& Timetable
Daily SRT morning class will be taught by British SRT teacher
Florence Peake, with Gaby Agis and Lionel Popkin. In the afternoons,
Gaby Agis (London), Lionel Popkin (LA) and Jennifer Monson (New
York) will each lead a week-long afternoon intensive sharing their
individual approaches to taking Releasing into improvisation and
performance:
